Ellie & Tom | Wedding at Hazlewood Castle, York
Ellie & Tom picked the beautiful location of Hazlewood Castle near York, for their big day. It’s definitely a favourite of mine. Hazlewood Castle is set on the edge of thick woodland, on a hill and has fantastic views to the horizon. It’s also absolutely gorgeous inside.
We started off at Hazlewood in the morning, with Ellie getting ready. Meanwhile, Tom was already in York, getting suited and booted with his guard of honour - there were swords!!
The wedding ceremony was a first for me. I think I’ve photographed weddings in most of the churches in and around York over the years, but this was my first one at St Wilfrid’s Church. It’s beautiful. Right in the heart of York and just up the road from York Minster.
After the ceremony, it was back to Hazlewood Castle for the festivities…
Hazlewood Castle Wedding Venue
Hazlewood Castle is nestled in the picturesque countryside near Tadcaster in Yorkshire. It’s a stunning 13th-century castle, surrounded by lush woodlands and gorgeous gardens. They cater for almost every type of wedding you can imagine, with the castle & its function rooms, a massive marquee on the lawn and a woodland tipi venue too. On a completely unconnected note, it’s also the closest wedding venue to where I live…
